Double Hooks--Traditional Chinese Cold Weapons
Share
The "Double Hooks," a traditional Chinese martial arts weapon, is also known as the "Double Hook Sword." It's a dual-edged weapon, with each blade ending in a curved hook shape.
Usually made of metal like iron or steel, sometimes with wooden handles. Its design allows users to attack and defend through swinging, rotating, and waving the hook heads. The unique shape is suitable for close combat, used for entwining, intercepting, striking, and grabbing opponents' weapons.
In martial arts, the Double Hooks are utilized in various techniques and forms, demanding exceptional coordination and flexibility from practitioners. While no longer a primary weapon in modern times, the Double Hooks retain a special status in the Chinese martial arts community, as a traditional and distinctive form of weaponry, also continuing to be showcased in cultural activities like performances and dances.
